We really wanted to hear more from our mechanic about this Prev PRIOR to advertising because we know he loves them so much. Here are the interesting details and highlights of his expert opinion:

First, people who own them rarely give them up because they don’t have to and can’t — they ARE JUST TOO RELIABLE - gas companies don’t like them because they are super on gas and service centers at big dealerships don’t like them because they rarely break down. Doug says “its an absurdity of practicality, perfect design, and it just doesn’t break”. Fantastic visibility, great gas mileage, great in the snow (yes, even RWD is great in snow with good tires), and overall just remarkable.

Doug explains with the super duper spark plugs he just installed in this engine this Prev will need NO maintenance for another 60K miles other than air filters and oil changes. As a Toyota expert and renown Toyota mechanic of today and the 90s Doug’s witnessed it all when it comes to all models from it’s timeless era forward: When we asked: Why is the Previa such a legend? He stopped, scratched his head as though he was going to make a very poignant statement and exclaimed: “This vehicle is the car I saw ‘the least’ (because it didn’t break down) working the Toyota dealership. Period. And, so I was fascinated with “why”. The reason is —— it’s design is absolutely incredible, it has a bullet proof motor and drive train, and it only needs oil changes, air filters, and spark plugs every 60K” What he means by seeing “it the least’ is meant that in all that time he never witnessed one that needed anything major — just brakes and oil changes. There are some expert theories he has on this. The drive belts are separate from the engine compartment and located where they do not receive the heat and vibration from the engine. Add another bonus Doug wanted to emphasize: you can fit 4 feet by 8 feet full sheets of sheet rock and plywood (or a surf board) without taking any seats out and still close the back door. It’s a fantastic van that does it all and doesn’t break down.

Doug explains this is “the best built mini van EVER” and has the capability of going 500K without any issues. If you purchased a new Sienna or Volkswagen van today…you more than likely will trade it in before this one was even tired — that’s like getting two new mini vans for $3950!!! Yeah, it would be cool to drive the VW van with all it’s bells and whistles (and problems) and express your commitment to timeless nostalgia of a certain era but unlike many Volkswagen vans this VAN WILL DO BOTH: IT WILL TRULY KEEP THAT NASTALGIC tempo YET WITH ONE IMPORTANT COMPONENT: IT WILL BRING YOU BACK AND FORTH ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITHOUT A HITCH or WITHOUT A BREAK DOWN.

Fantastic and practical!

Currently there are only 10 Toyota Previa models across the entire USA (we realize this could change and others may be found but you really have to be committed to a full-on search to find them) on autotrader with an average price that is much higher than this (with the average CR being much less than this one and mileage much higher)— across the whole country.
